Our Story

The Beginning
Bald Cypress Studio was created by two students at Texas A&M who grew fond of the art of woodworking and the beauty of handcrafted products. What began as a shared hobby quickly evolved into a passion for creating unique wooden pieces that bring natural beauty into everyday life.
As engineering students, we were drawn to the precision and problem-solving aspects of woodworking, while our appreciation for natural materials inspired us to highlight the inherent beauty of each piece of wood we work with.
Our name, Bald Cypress, pays homage to the majestic trees native to our Texas home—trees known for their resilience, beauty, and the unique character they develop over time.
Our Workshop
Our workshop is where ideas come to life. We work out of a local nonprofit maker space called Starforge Foundry. Starforge has allowed our business to flourish and create mesmerizing pieces for all to enjoy.
Here, we carefully select each piece of wood, considering its grain, color, and character. We believe that every knot and growth ring tells a story, and our job is to highlight that natural beauty through thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship.
